Fire Breaks

A fire break is the gap a fire has to jump. We cut and maintain mulched breaks around timber, structures, and leases so a bad day stays small.

What's Included

  • Breaks cut around structures, camps, and timber stands
  • Widths and routes planned with the terrain, not against it
  • Ladder fuels and understory knocked down along the break
  • Access doubled as equipment and hunting lanes
  • Refresh passes when regrowth starts closing the gap

Why It Matters

Central Louisiana grows fuel fast. Pine litter, yaupon, and dry-season understory carry fire, and a solid wall of it runs a fire straight to whatever you care about. A maintained break starves the run and gives anyone fighting the fire a line to work from.

A mulched break earns its keep between fires too. It is an access lane for equipment, a walking path, and a hunting lane, which means the money spent on protection is not sitting idle.

Protect What Matters

Camps, homes, and merchantable timber sit behind a gap instead of a fuse.

Working Lanes

Every break doubles as access for equipment, hunters, and maintenance.

Cheaper Than the Alternative

A break is a small line item next to a timber stand or a structure lost.
